Web Design Trends Portal and Community

In the early days of the internet era, there was a remarkable flourishing of various creative design styles as designers and developers experimented with the new digital medium. The initial limitations of the internet, such as slow connection speeds and limited bandwidth, prompted designers to think outside the box and find creative ways to make their websites visually appealing and functional. Designers have explored various styles like grunge, minimalist, and experimental typography, each with their unique visual language.

The idea behind crossmind.net was not only to build a worldwide digital designer community, but also to name, categorize and structuring different trends. The portal has incorporated a unique filter, which allowed to showcase the websites of a certain trend (or matching several trends) combining with other parameters like colors or typography. The website was customary developed, including the unique backend.

The community of crossmind.net has achieved ca. 5.000 users, before the project was closed after about 8 years of successful operation.
